Personal Financial Program

I've been recording my expense and income all the while using Microsoft Excel since I started my working life. I find it quite tough to maintain the Excel file. Thus, I thought of developing a simple application to record all my monetary transactions into database. Then, I can just generate reports from it when I want to analyse my financial status. I guess, my life would be easier with that. How long do I need to develop that? I'm not very sure, but I'll give myself a month for it. Will share my experience here if I encounter any problem during my development process..

First Programming Task

After working as PROGRAMMER for almost 3 months, finally get my first task to do programming for the first time. Unbelievable? Before this, I was only asked to do research and testing for others' code. Nonetheless, the programming task assigned to me is more to amendment to existing files rather than creating new files. Microsoft Windows Vista

After using Microsoft Windows XP for years, with a number of service packs, here comes a new operating system (OS) from Microsoft! Why Windows Vista? Not Longhorn? Windows Vista has actually replaced the Longhorn. The beta version of the OS will be available by August. So, I guess the official release of the OS should be 2006.

Yahoo! New Search Index

Suddenly I saw that Yahoo! search engine has brought a significant number of visitors to my blog (From zero to a few. LOL!). Then, I did a few test with my own keywords and found that Yahoo! has actually indexed most of my pages! Check Yahoo! Search blog for more details.

Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft Access 2003

I'd a friend with problem connecting to Microsoft Office Access 2003 database from Microsoft Visual Basic 6 (VB6). The reason for this problem would be quite straight forward. Since VB6 is developed in early days before year 2000, it shouldn't be able support Access 2003 or even Access 2000.

The easiest solution for this problem would be to convert the database file to Access 97 file format. For MsAccess newbies, go to Tools > Database Utilities > To Access 97 File Format to convert the file.

Second solution, which is supposed to be a better one, would be to upgrade your Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 to the latest service pack (SP). SP6 should the the latest one currently. I haven't done this before, but I guess this will definitely solve the problem...

Earn Money From Surfing

How the program goes?

They provide you with USD4.00 when you register with them. Then, as you surf each day, they pay you 4% of your credit in your account. You will need to surf 40 sites a day with 20 seconds for each site. If you want to gain more from it, you can just invest a few dollars to make your earning more. This means that you can add more credit to the USD4.00. If you invest USD4.00, your account will have USD8.00. And you will gain 4% of USD8.00 a day, instead of the original USD4.00. Good?
